Sablio vs Harvest

Sablio vs Harvest.

Harvest built a full suite around agency invoicing. Sablio aims smaller and quieter. Here's what each does well.

What they do well

What Harvest does well

Mature invoicing

Over fifteen years refining the estimate → time → invoice → payment loop. Auto-reminders, online payments, credits: it's all there.

Accounting integrations

QuickBooks, Xero, FreshBooks: solid two-way sync. If your bookkeeper lives in QuickBooks, Harvest plugs right in.

Expense tracking and rebilling

Snap a receipt, rebill it to the client, see it on the final invoice. Harvest handles that flow end to end.

Detailed reporting

Profitability by project, by person, by task. Useful for an agency that has to defend its margins every quarter.

Where Sablio is different

Where Sablio takes a different turn

  1. 01

    Simple invoicing, no paid add-on

Harvest splits tracking, invoicing, and expenses into priced modules. Sablio includes PDF invoicing in the base plan — no higher tier for it.

  2. 02

    No screenshots, not even optional

    Harvest offers a screenshot-based monitoring module (upper-tier add-on). Sablio doesn't offer it, and won't.

  3. 03

    Hosted in Québec

Harvest is US-hosted. Sablio is in Montréal, under Law 25. For certain Québec government or institutional clients, that changes the conversation.

  4. 04

    Local carnet d'atelier

A trace of your work, on your machine, that doesn't sync to the cloud. Nothing equivalent at Harvest.

Migrating

Migrating from Harvest

Harvest lets you export time entries, clients, and projects to CSV from Reports → Time → Export. Sablio reads that format and remaps your clients and projects. Expect two minutes for a freelancer, a bit more if you have dozens of active projects. Historical invoices stay with Harvest — we don't try to re-import them.

Who it's for

Who should stay, who should try

Stay on Harvest if

Your agency rebills expenses every month. Your bookkeeper has a critical QuickBooks flow. You're a 10+ team that needs fine-grained profitability reports. Harvest is a solid pick for that world.

Try Sablio if

You're a freelancer or a 2-10 studio doing simple invoices. You're paying today for modules (expenses, monitoring) you don't use. You'd rather pick a tool that owns being smaller than one that overpromises.
